Mechanical Design Engineer (m/w/d) in Mamer

On behalf of our renowned client with headquarters in Mamer (L) we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d).

Your mission is the development and design of complex machinery and high technology solutions.

The position will be filled directly and permanent with the client.

Our client is an innovative, Luxembourg based high-tech company with several state-of-the-art divisions.

Your tasks

Developing concepts for mechanical systems and generate corresponding designs
Ensuring the quality and completeness of engineering documents (incl. technical correctnes, quality assurance, traceability and knowledge management aspects)
Specifying, selecting and dimensioning machine components
Participating in analytical and numerical structural analyses
Checking designs and drawings produced by other team members, and providing guidance and expertise to your colleagues
Preparing and supervising the preparation of fabrication drawings and production documents
Contributing to documentation and testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
Coming up with development ideas and their realisation
Supporting continuous improvement in terms of design and verification processes
Supporting your line manager
Interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers in order to promote, improve and troubleshoot the company’s technical solutions

Your profile

Master’s degree in a mechanical engineering or equivalent
Several years of experience in a relevant field of activity
Experience in project management
Good design knowledge incl. GD&T surface treatments, bolted connections, welded structures, bearings, standard & COTS parts
Good skills in CAD & PDM tools
Knowledge in machine components selection, specification and dimensioning
Familiarity with structural engineering & analysis, incl. FEA
Know-how of material properties & selection
Familiarity with relevant norms
Good knowledge of MS Office, MS Project would be an asset
Strong sense of responsibility
Fluent in English; German or French is an asset
